Dr. Allan Liefer has been a Board Certified Surgeon since 1977. He trained at major medical centers in Chicago. Dr. Liefer chose to practice rural medicine because he believes in the theory of staying closely informed about each individual patient. He believes that as a surgeon in a rural area, he can provide care that is better tailored to each patient and family. Dr. Liefer is a member of the Illinois State Surgical Society, Midwest Surgical Association, American Medical Association, Illinois Medical Association, Illinois State Medical Association and the Randolph County Medical Society. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
