Child and Babysitting Safety Courses

Memorial Hospital’s Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Courses equip teens and young adults with essential skills for confident, responsible babysitting. Offered twice a year, once in June and again in July, these one-day sessions run from 8 AM to 2 PM and are led by a certified HSI ASHI Instructor. Participants learn how to start a babysitting business, communicate with families, and handle key caregiving responsibilities including CPR and choking rescue techniques. Lunch and beverages are provided, and each student receives a booklet and certification card upon completion, giving them the tools they need to begin babysitting with confidence and care.

Junior Explorers Camp

Memorial Hospital’s Junior Explorers Program is a dynamic three-day summer camp designed for students entering grades 6 through 8 who are curious about careers in healthcare. Held annually, the program features engaging, hands-on sessions led by professionals from Memorial Hospital and the community. Each day offers exciting rotations that introduce participants to a variety of healthcare roles, sparking curiosity and fostering early career exploration. Lunch and beverages are provided daily to keep students energized as they learn, connect, and discover their future potential.

Medical Explorers Program

Memorial Hospital’s Medical Explorers Program (Post 8618) is a free, nine-month opportunity for high school and college students to explore the wide world of healthcare careers. Whether participants arrive with a specific path in mind or simply a curiosity about the field, this engaging program offers monthly gatherings featuring hands-on experiences, career insights, and direct interactions with healthcare professionals.
Meetings are held in Memorial Hospital’s Conference Room on the third Thursday of each month from September through April, with a final wrap-up event on the first Thursday in May. It’s a welcoming environment for young adults to learn, connect, and gain valuable exposure to a variety of medical professions.

Memorial Hospital’s Prenatal Classes offer a compassionate and up-to-date learning experience for expectant families seeking guidance throughout their birthing journey. Designed as a helpful extension of care from your birthing hospital and provider, these classes are available in-person, online, or through a flexible hybrid format to meet diverse schedules and preferences. Families residing in Randolph, Monroe, Washington, Perry, and Jackson counties in Illinois, as well as Perry and Ste. Genevieve counties in Missouri, are invited to participate. Whether you're preparing for your first child or adding to your growing family, Memorial’s Prenatal Classes provide reliable resources, expert support, and a welcoming space to learn and connect.
