After completing his ophthalmology residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Dr. Bart Jones joined Quantum Eye Centers in 2001. He received his medical degree in 1997 from Southern Illinois University and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. His affiliations include American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS), International Society of Refractive Surgeons (ISRS), American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), Saint Louis Ophthalmological Society (SLOS), Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS), and St. Clair Medical Society. Dr. Jones practices comprehensive ophthalmology, with a special interest in premium refractive cataract and LASIK surgery.

Since joining the practice in 2001, he has successfully performed over 15,000 cataract surgeries, 4,000 LASIK refractive surgeries, and 3,000 premium refractive cataract surgeries. Dr. Bart Jones places special emphasis on personalizing treatment options. He understands everyone has unique eyes and different lifestyle needs.

Dr. Bart Jones has always been on the cutting edge of technology. He was the first doctor in Southern Illinois to perform Custom Wavefront LASIK and the first in Southern Illinois to implant Verisyse phakic IOL, Crystalens Accommodative IOL and ReZoom Multifocal IOL. He is also a certified Restor and Toric intraocular lens implant specialist. Since 2001, Dr. Bart Jones has actively incorporated astigmatism relaxing incisions as part of his routine cataract surgery. For most refractive cataract surgeons, this is now considered standard of care.

Dr. Bart Jones was the first Quantum Vision Center surgeon to be certified proficient in the newest generation LASIK lasers (Allegretto Wavelight excimer and FS200 femtosecond lasers). He was also the first Quantum Vision Centers surgeon to be certified in femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery (LenSx) in October 2011.

Dr. Jones conducts outpatient eye surgeries at Memorial Hospital. A physician’s referral is required.
