Service Description

Memorial has two cardiologists who provide care at the Specialty Clinic. Dr. John Groll specializes in cardiology and subspecializes in diagnostic and interventional cardiology. He has been a member of the Memorial Hospital Specialty Staff since 1998. ​Dr. Groll holds outpatient clinics at Memorial Hospital weekly. A physician referral is required. Dr. Frederick Ochieng’ specializes in general cardiology. He is board certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He also holds board certification from the American Board of Pediatrics, National Board of Echocardiography, and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Ochieng’ is part of the Prairie Cardiovascular group and practices at the O’Fallon, Illinois location. He joined the Memorial Hospital team of specialty providers, offering outpatient cardiology clinics in September 2023. He holds clinics monthly. Rece works with Dr. Fredrick Ochieng’ as a member of the Prairie Cardiovascular team in O’Fallon Illinois. Dr. M. Adil Sheikh joined the Memorial Hospital Specialty Clinic Team in February 2026. He specializes in interventional cardiology with expertise in treating complex coronary artery disease and structural heart conditions. Dr. Sheikh earned his medical degree from Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan and completed residency in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University – Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. He then joined the Department of Internal Medicine faculty at the University of Michigan Medical School as a Clinical Assistant Professor. In 2024, Dr. Sheikh completed fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, followed by a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Sheikh joined the Prairie Cardiovascular team of cardiologist at the O’Fallon, Illinois location in 2025. He offers outpatient cardiology clinics on Mondays.
