Welcome Kara Roth, FNP-C, DNP, to Convenient Care Team
Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome Kara Roth, FNP-C, DNP, to the Memorial Hospital Convenient Care team.
Roth brings a diverse background in nursing, family practice, emergency care, and walk-in clinic services. She began her nursing career as a registered nurse in 2015 and went on to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2021. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Throughout her career, Roth has developed extensive experience caring for patients of all ages in rural health, family practice, emergency department, and walk-in clinic settings. Her experience includes assessing, diagnosing, and treating acute and chronic health concerns while helping patients achieve their preventive health and wellness goals.
Roth says one of the most rewarding aspects of her career is providing quick, reliable care that gives patients answers when they need them. She is passionate about providing evidence-based care to people from all walks of life.
That commitment has played an important role throughout her career. Roth identifies one of her greatest professional accomplishments as helping operate a clinic in an underserved community where she and a colleague worked to improve cervical cancer screening. Their efforts identified previously undiagnosed cervical cancers as well as precancerous cases, allowing patients to receive earlier treatment.
In addition to her clinical experience, Roth has a strong background in nursing education. She has served as adjunct faculty at Maryville University and has mentored nurse practitioner students at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She currently serves as Director of the Beck School of Practical Nursing in Red Bud, where she oversees Licensed Practical Nurse and Certified Nursing Assistant programs and works to expand access to nursing education in rural southern Illinois.
Roth looks forward to returning to the clinical setting and serving patients through Memorial Hospital’s Convenient Care. Her experience in fast-paced walk-in and rural healthcare environments, combined with her commitment to accessible, patient-centered care, makes her a valuable addition to the Convenient Care team.
