Nursing administration at Memorial Hospital provided a āLetās Taco-bout Itā luncheon for their nurses Monday, October 18th in recognition of the recent 5 star CMS ( Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) report for HCAHPS ( the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) patient satisfaction survey.
āWe wanted to recognize the outstanding work that is done by nursing staff across the spectrum at the facility who provide patient care as all of those staff provide interactions with patients and shape the perception of our facility by patients and their loved ones,ā said Kristi Williams, Assistant Nursing Director.
HCAHPS star ratings use data derived from patient surveys that includes nurse communication, Doctor communication, responsiveness by hospital staff, communication about medications, cleanliness and quietness of the hospital environment as well as an overall rating of the hospital and willingness to recommend to friends and family. In 2017 the hospital set a goal of reaching a 5 star patient satisfaction score by HCAHPS with CMS to be completed by 2020. We have reached the goal early and continue to strive to maintain the 5 star ranking.
